"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Giants said to the press corps after the game. Fitzsimmons agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." S. Fitzsimmons doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 10th.
