Los Angeles right fielder Hernán Silva put on quite a show at Dodger Stadium with a big 5-hit day. But all for naught. The Dodgers were beaten 9-8 by the Houston Astros.
In the postgame interview he said, "The team didn't do too well today, but it was a good one for me, at least at the plate...5-6...wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average...and my salary, too. But I could do without the losing."
H. Silva hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 8th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
So far in 2024, Silva is batting .374 with 13 home runs and 107 RBIs.

Jose Ulloa pitched a strong game in blanking the San Diego Padres 1-0, allowed no runs on 4 hits, totaled 3 strikeouts and gave up no walks.
The Los Angeles manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Ulloa. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
Looking at his season stats, Ulloa has won 6 and lost 4, collecting 56 strikeouts and 35 walks in 96 innings with a 3.94 ERA.
