Stieb was hoping to show the team he deserved a spot in the World Series rotation but allowed 6 runs on 9 hits and 6 walks in his 7 innings of work. Even so, the game was close until Shocker allowed another 5 runs in the 8th. Baines finished 3 for 4 with 4 RBI. Bob Lemon wasn&#8217;t great for the Docs, but did well enough to improve to 3-6. Lemon allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. The Swats finish the season a disappointing 23-31.
