Oscar *Charleston* is soaking up the praise today after hitting an eye-popping .402 this season. The Homestead Grays center fielder surpassed even his own expectations.
"I thought I could hit .350, maybe," he said, his eyes misting over. "To go beyond that . . ." His voice trailed off before he continued, "It's like a dream."
The Grays star made the season a nightmare for his opposition, rattling off 248 hits including 56 doubles, 8 triples, and 29 home runs. He scored 159 times and collected 101 runs batted in.

 | Wednesday, September 11th, 2024: Jones Injured, Out of Lineup 7 Months
The Grays received bad news this morning. Kenneth Jones will miss 7 months due to a torn calf muscle. In the Homestead-San Francisco game he sustained the injury while running the bases. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Jones sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."
So far this year Jones is batting .279 with 20 home runs, 108 RBIs and 100 runs scored.

 | Sunday, September 1st, 2024: Fano - August's Starter of the Month
Abel Fano's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-1 in August, the Homestead hurler has been named National League Pitcher of the Month.
He fanned 54 in 48 innings, logged an ERA of 1.88 and allowed opponents to hit .182 against him.
In 18 starts this season Fano has notched a 8-5 record and a 3.53 ERA.
